Say goodbye to your old lease (unless, of course, you still live with your parents). Remember to cancel your contract well in advance so you don't have to pay your landlord compensation.
Prefer to move during the week? Some companies offer a day off for your move. Ask your boss about the details.
Make sure all the lights are on: check to see if any local festivals or flea markets are happening on your moving day. Just to be sure!

Don't forget to reserve street space and parking signs ahead of time. This is done through the Municipality.
Are you tempted by the "professional movers" option? Keep in mind that weekends and the period from May to September are generally more expensive.
Address change alert! Friends, family, boss, insurance company, bank, energy providers, Internet providers, even the gym need to know.
Don't forget to pack your boxes and other protective items for transport.

Have a crate ready with items you might need quickly so you don't have to unpack everything right away.
